Catch up time!
JournalMuch to my surprise, someone has actually been reading these things! Here's a quote from the email I got from my step-dad:

If you aint "blogging", how am I supposed to tell your mom what's going on
in ya'lls world? - lol

You working a lot? Tired? Got them "I-work-too-much-not-enough-time
-for-my-family-or-myself-blues"?

Got my shooting range built - and we are using it - next is the archery
range.

Monday morning was a NIGHTMARE! All of our Win2k servers had been virused! The good news is, there was no data loss. The bad news is, I put in three 18 hour days in a row.

The weird thing is, we keep all of our virus definitions updated. Before now, we weren't running a virus scanner on our servers, because you have to have a special edition of Norton Antivirus to run on servers. However, one of the Win2K Pro servers we were running got it, and it WAS running the latest, greatest virus scan.

Needless to say, with the exception of our Web Server, I was able to get rid of it on our servers. I reformatted our Web server and started over with it, because our IWAM user passwords were out of sync. I was still able to keep all of our data and our websites. I just started over with a new hard drive, and copied the stuff from our old one.

I've not gotten to the office later than 7:30am this whole week. I did slack off a little on Thursday and Friday, but I had put in some INTENSE hours the first three days of the week.

My uncle Jack lives about four miles from me. Thursday, I went over to show him how Personal Webserver works on Win2K Pro, because he's going to host his own website soon. He gave me two runs of an Ivy he got from my grandfather after my grandmother had her stroke. She's in a nursing home, now, and my grandfather didn't want to take care of it. I got it in a pot on Friday, and watered it real good. Yesterday, I bought a thing of Miracle Grow, so we'll see what happens. One runner is REAL green, and the other is a little on the yellow side... but I think it'll take root and catch up.

Friday night, I took a bath. I normally take a shower, but I wanted to have a little fun with something... a while back, Wayne and Jennie gave me a personal spa thing that you can put in your bath tub. I closed the shower doors, and guess what I did with a bottle of dish soap? That's right! I literally filled up the shower with suds! I got Ladonna to take some pictures with a disposable camera, so when we get them back, I'll scan and post them.

Don went back to LA on Thursday, because his house sold. It happened MUCH faster than he expected, and that's a good thing. I'm going to LA at the end of this month to work with Shannon, and if one of his Lexus doesn't sell, I might be driving that back.

Shannon is flying in today, and I'm picking her up from the airport tonight. Ladonna and I are taking her out to eat and show her around Dallas. She didn't get to see Dallas at all last time she was here. Then, she and I will be working tomorrow (during LABOR DAY!), then she flies to Michigan. She's all but quit for now because of personal things going on in her life. She's leaving the laptop I gave her with me for the week so the ball doesn't get dropped on a lot of things... then I'm shipping it back to her in California.

We got a new couch yesterday. Wayne let me borrow his pickup, and Ladonna and I went to Little Elm to get it. The futon that was in our living room is now Boogie's bed. We were going to get him a real bed, but he likes the futon a LOT. It's now in his room, and he's thrilled to have it there.

I know this post has been a bit much... I'll try harder to update it more regularly, instead of giving it to you all at once. I'm sure I'm leaving something out, but if I can remember it, I'll post it later. Until then...

Signing off.
